What to Look for When Choosing a Cleaning Products Manufacturer
Buying cleaning products from the manufacturer reduces intermediary costs and makes it easier to maintain product and packaging standards. But choosing the right manufacturer means looking not only at price, but also at production infrastructure and continuity of supply. The criteria below serve as a checklist for dealers, retailers and corporate buyers.
1. Is there a real production facility?
Ask whether the manufacturer produces in its own facility, the facility's address and its production history. Companies that give an open address and contact details and are open to facility visits are more reliable.
2. Does the product range meet your needs?
Being able to buy dishwashing, laundry, surface, bathroom and hand hygiene products from a single supplier simplifies ordering, stock and invoice management.
3. Is the same product available in different packs?
Retail sales may need household bottles, corporate customers 20–30 kg canisters. Having the same product in different packs lets you offer your customers a consistent product.
4. Product codes, units per case and a catalogue
A catalogue that clearly lists information such as product code, barcode and units per case reduces ordering errors and makes warehouse planning easier.
5. Labels and technical documents
It is important that product labels carry instructions for use and safety warnings, and that professional users can access safety data sheets (SDS).
6. Certificates
Ask about the manufacturer's certificates (quality management system, permits and registrations required for the product group) and verify the certificate number and validity date. Don't rely on a supplier's word alone if they cannot share their certificate.
7. Delivery and continuity
Clarify delivery times, minimum order quantity, delivery area and payment terms in writing. Regular supply means continuity of stock, especially for dealers.
8. Communication and the quote process
How quickly and how clearly a quote request is answered is also an indicator of how communication will work if problems arise later.
